FREEZE ACQUIRE DEFENSEMAN BRIGGS JOWETT FROM OCN

The Winnipeg Freeze have acquired defenseman Briggs Jowett from the OCN Blizzard.

The 19-year-old from La Broquerie weighs in at 198 pounds and stands 6’ 2” tall.

The left-shot blueliner made his MJHL debut last season with OCN. He notched five assists with 113 penalty minutes in 39 games through his rookie campaign.

“Briggs is a high, high character kid,” said head coach Jay Pylypuik. “We’re all extremely excited to have him with us moving forward.”

“[His character] was the main attraction but also being able to add someone of his ability size and grit was a huge bonus.”

The Blizzard received two prospects in exchange for Jowett.
